Admission Notice

Applications are invited on prescribed format from eligible candidates for admission to the following courses for the Academic year 2012-13.

1. M.D. in Psychiatry                                                1 seat (UR)
2. M. Phil in Psychiatric Social Work                        5 seats (UR-3, SC-1, OBC-1)
3. M. Phil in Medical & Social Psychology                4 seats (UR-2, SC-1, OBC-1)
4. M. Sc. in Psychiatric Nursing                               12 seats (UR-6, SC-2, OBC-3, and ST-1)

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION
MD in Psychiatry: M.B.B.S. degree of any University recognized by Medical Council of India with one year rotating internship completed before 31st March, 2012, or a foreign degree included in the schedules of the Indian Medical Council Act. 1956 and full registration either from the Medical  Council of India or State Medical Council after completing the compulsory rotating internship.
M. Phil in Psychiatric Social Work: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from UGC approved University / Institution, securing not less than 55% in the aggregate of the degree as a whole.
M. Phil in Medical & Social Psychology: MA/M.Sc. in Psychology/Counseling Psychology/ Psychological Counseling /Applied Psychology, from UGC approved University / Institution, securing not less than 55% in the aggregate of the degree as a whole.
M. Sc. in Psychiatric Nursing: B.Sc. Nursing / Post basic B.Sc. Nursing degree from any University recognized by the Indian Nursing Council with one year working experience as a registered nurse securing not less than 55% in the aggregate of the degree as a whole.
The Application Form along with prospectus is available in the Academic office on payment of Rupees 200/- in form of Demand Draft to be drawn in favour of the Director, LGBRIMH, payable at Tezpur, Assam. Application forms and prospectus for all the courses are also available at the institute’s website: www.lgbrimh.org. The downloaded application form should be accompanied with the Demand Draft. Application sent through e-mail will not be accepted.
There shall be 3% horizontal reservation for physically handicapped person (only for locomotor disability of lower limbs between 50% to 70% or as per Govt. of India rules) subject to availability of such candidates. If suitable candidates are not available under reserved category, seats shall be filled up by open category candidates.
Last date of receipt of filled-up application form by post /in person is 4 p.m. on 31.01.2012. The Entrance examination will held on 04.03.2012 (Sunday). No separate calling letter will be issued to the candidates. Counseling will be held within two days of Entrance Examination for selected candidates. Candidates should produce all original mark sheets and relevant documents at the time of counseling.

It is proposed to fill up following posts on contractual basis for a project under national manpower development scheme of National Mental Health Programme (NMHP). The eligible and interested candidates fulfilling the following qualifications / experience may appear for walk in interview on 22.09.2011 at 10 AM onward with their applications giving full details of academic records, experience along with original and attested copies of documents and two passport size photographs. Essential Qualification: For Sl. No. 1-3: Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor: (i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part – II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act,1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part – II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub – section (3) of section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (ii) Post-graduate degree in the concerned specialty mentioned in Section – A of the Schedule –VI or equivalent.
Essential Experience: For Professor (Sl No. 1) - (i) 12 years standing in the profession out of which at least 4 years experience should be in the concerned specialty as Associate Professor in a Medical College/Teaching Institution after the requisite Post-graduate degree qualification. (ii) Extensive practical and administrative experience.
Essential Experience: For Associate Professor (Sl No.2)- 5 years as Tutor/ Demonstrator/ Senior Resident / Register / Lecturer after the requisite PG out of which at least 2 years as Assistant Professor.
Essential Experience: For Assistant Professor (Sl No.3)- 3 years as Tutor/ Demonstrator/ Senior Resident / Register / Lecturer after the requisite PG qualification.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. Candidates who do not fulfill requirement of advertisement need not apply. (2) All Medical Qualifications should be recognized under MCI. (3) Consolidated fixed pay without any allowances will be admissible to the selected candidates for appointment on contractual basis. Desirable-NET (UGC-CSIR)/DBT JRF. Age: Below 28years.
3. Technical Assistant (Laboratory Technician) – One. Fellowship Rs.8000/p.m. (consolidated).Qualification- Higher Secondary with MLT from recognized Govt. institute. Additional higher qualification and experience will be added advantage. Age: Preferably below 30 years.

Notes:—

1. Emoluments as per the DBT rule.
2. Relaxation in regard to marks and age should be given to candidates belonging SC/ST/OBC/ Women and physically challenged as per Govt. of India rules.
3. Appointment will be initially for a period of one year which may be extended further depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent and co-terminus with the project.

               A walk in interview will be held on 06.05.2011 for preparing a panel of Junior Resident-5 posts in Psychiatry to be appointed on contractual basis on a basic pay Rs.15,600/- + GP 5400 p.m. plus other allowances as admissible under rules of the residency scheme of the institute.             It is proposed to fill up following posts on contractual basis for a project under national manpower development scheme of National Mental Health Programme (NMHP). The eligible and interested candidates fulfilling the following qualifications / experience may appear for walk in interview on 28.01.2011 at 10 AM onward with their applications giving full details of academic records, experience along with original and attested copies of documents and two passport size photographs. Retired person up to the age of 62 years may be allowed to appear for interview.

Essential Qualification: For Sl. No. 1-3: Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor: (i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part – II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act,1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part – II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub – section (3) of section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (ii) Post-graduate degree in the concerned specialty mentioned in Section – A of the Schedule –VI or equivalent.
Essential Experience: For Professor (Sl No. 1) - (i) 12 years standing in the profession out of which at least 4 years experience should be in the concerned specialty as Associate Professor in a Medical College/Teaching Institution after the requisite Post-graduate degree qualification. (ii) Extensive practical and administrative experience.
Essential Experience: For Associate Professor (Sl No.2)- 5 years as Tutor/ Demonstrator/ Senior Resident / Register / Lecturer after the requisite PG out of which at least 2 years as Assistant Professor.

Applications are invited on prescribed form from eligible candidates for Admission to the following courses for the Academic year 2011-12.

ELIGIBLITITY CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION:
MD in Psychiatry: M.B.B.S. degree of any University recognized by Medical Council of India with one year rotating Internship completed by 15th February 2011 or in Psychiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) of any University recognized by Indian Medical Council. 
M. Phil in Psychiatric Social Work: Master’s Degree in Social work (MSW) from UGC approved University/Institution having undergone a regular course, securing not less than 55% in the aggregate of the degree as a whole.
M. Phil in Clinical Psychology: 2 years full time M.A. / M. Sc. in Psychology/ Counseling Psychology/ Psychological Counseling / Applied Psychology from UGC approved University/ Institution, securing not less than 55% in the aggregate of the degree as a whole.
M. Sc. in Psychiatric Nursing: B.Sc. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree from any University recognized by the Indian Nursing Council  with one year working experience as a registered nurse securing not less than 55% marks in the aggregate of the degree as a whole.

The Application Form along with prospectus is available in the Academic office on payment of Rs. 200/- in form of demand draft to be drawn in favour of the Director, LGBRIMH payable at Tezpur, Assam. Application forms and prospectus for all the courses are also available at the Institute website: www.lgbrimh.org. The downloaded application form should be accompanied with a Demand Draft of Rs.200/- to be drawn in favour of the Director, LGBRIMH payable at Tezpur, Assam. Applications sent through email will not be accepted.

There shall be 3% horizontal reservation for Physically-handicapped persons (only for locomotary disability of lower limbs between 50% to 70% or as per Govt. of India rules) subject to availability of such candidates. If suitable candidates are not available under reserved category, seats shall be filled up by open category candidates.

Last date of receipt of fill-up application form by post / in person is 4 p.m. on 07.02.2011. The Entrance examination will be held on 06.03.2011 (Sunday). No separate calling letter will be issued to the candidates. Counseling will be held on 08.03.2011 for selected candidates. Candidates should produce all original mark sheets and relevant documents at the time of counseling.
