Application in prescribed format is invited for admission into the M. Phil in Psychiatric Social Work course (two years full time clinical course) against the vacant seats 2 (two) , for the session 2010-12 to be conducted at LGB Regional Institute of Mental Health, Tezpur under Gauhati University:

Eligibility: - Master degree holders in Social Work (MSW) from a UGC approved University / Institution having undergone a regular course, securing not less than 55% marks in the aggregate.

Prescribed application format may be obtained in person or may be down loaded from Institute website “www.lgbrimh.org”. Last date of the receipt of application is 27.05.2010 by 4 pm and entrance test will be held on the 29.05.2010 from 9 am onwards at LGBRIMH, Tezpur. No separate call letter will be issued to the candidate for the entrance examination. Candidates should bring all the original certificates / documents for verification prior to entrance test without which the Institute reserves the right to reject the candidates for appearing in the entrance examination. Reservation criteria as per Central Government norms will be applicable.

No TA/DA will be paid by the institute for appearing in the entrance test.

It is proposed to fill up following posts on contractual basis for a project under national manpower development scheme of National Mental Health Programme (NMHP). The eligible and interested candidates fulfilling the following qualifications / experience may appear for walk in interview on 24.05.2010 at 10 AM onward with their applications giving full details of academic records, experience along with original and attested copies of documents and two passport size photographs. In deserving cases, age and experience criteria may be relaxed and even retired person up to the age of 62 years may be allowed to appear for interview. However, no experience is relaxable in case of medical faculty posts.

Essential Qualification: For Sl. No. 1-3: Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor: (i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part – II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act,1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part – II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub – section (3) of section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (ii) Post-graduate degree in the concerned specialty mentioned in Section – A of the Schedule –VI or equivalent.
Essential Experience: For Professor - (i) 12 years standing in the profession out of which at least 4 years experience should be in the concerned specialty as Associate Professor in a Medical College/Teaching Institution after the requisite Post-graduate degree qualification. (ii) Extensive practical and administrative experience.
Essential Experience: For Associate Professor- 5 years as Tutor/ Demonstrator/ Senior Resident / Register / Lecturer after the requisite PG out of which at least 2 years as Assistant Professor.
Essential Experience: For Assistant Professor- 3 years as Tutor/ Demonstrator/ Senior Resident / Register / Lecturer after the requisite PG qualification.
Essential Qualification: For Sl No. 4 to 9. i) First or Second Class Master’s Degree in concerned specialty, (ii) M.Phil. or PG Diploma/DMSP (2 years Course) in concerned specialty. Desirable: (iii) Ph.D./D.Sc. in concerned specialty from a recognized Institutions/University.
Essential Experience: For Associate Professor: 4 years teaching & research experience out of which 2 years as Assistant Professor in Psychiatric Social Work/Clinical Psychology/Psychiatric Nursing. Desirable: i) Research/published work in indexed journals.
Essential Experience: For Assistant Professor: 2 years teaching & research experience as Psychiatric Social Worker/Clinical Psychologist/ Psychiatric Nursing Tutor/ Lecturer in a Psychiatry Department/ recognized teaching Institutions after M.Phil / M.Sc. (Nursing) degree. Desirable: i) Research /published work in indexed journals. Essential Experience may be relaxed at the discretion of the appointing authority if a person is found otherwise suitable.
Essential Qualification: For Sl No.10 to 11 i) First or Second Class Master’s Degree in concerned specialty, (ii) M.Phil. or DMSP (2 years Course) in concerned specialty. For Sl No. 12, First or Second Class Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Essential Experience: 2 years teaching & research experience as PSW / Clinical Psychologist and Nursing Tutor in a Mental Hospital, Child Guidance Clinic or Psychiatric Department of a General Hospital/recognized teaching Institutions. Desirable: i) Research/published work in indexed journals. (ii) Working knowledge on local/regional language. Essential Experience may be relaxed at the discretion of the appointing authority if a person is found otherwise suitable.

Candidates who do not fulfill requirement of advertisement need not apply. (2) All Medical Qualifications should be recognized under MCI. (3) Consolidated fixed pay without any allowances will be admissible to the selected candidates for appointment on contractual basis. (4) Contractual appointment will be made against sanctioned project under National Manpower Development Scheme of National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) of the Government of India initially for 1 year which may be extended up to 3 years or the duration of the project period whichever is earlier. (5)The contractual appointee will not be entitled to any benefit like Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, medical reimbursement for treatment, seniority, promotion, confirmation etc. or any other benefit which are admissible to a regular Institute employee. (6) Relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates and retired employees as per Central Govt. norms. (7) Interested and qualified candidates may appear in the Walk in Interview with all original certificate in respect of Age, Qualification, Registration (MCI/INC/RCI) Certificate, working experience certificate and attested copies of certificate/one PP size photograph to the Administrative Officer, LGBRIMH, Tezpur-784001 on 10 AM of 24.05.2010 (8) Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification. (9) No TA / DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.

A walk in interview will be held on 10.05.2010 for filling up of a few posts of Senior Resident in Psychiatry / Neurology/ Pathology / Radiology in the Pay Band Rs. 15,600-39,100/- + GP Rs. 6600/- plus other allowances as admissible under residency scheme of the Institute. Essential Qualification: (i) MBBS degree and (ii) PG degree or diploma in concerned specialty from a recognized Institution/University/MCI. (iii) Registration under MCI or State Council. Age: 33 years in case of PG or 35 years in case of post doctoral degree holder with relaxation applicable for SC/ST (5 years) and OBC (3 years) as per Central Govt. norms. Eligible and interested candidates are requested to appear with all relevant original testimonials/BIO-DATA and report to the Administrative Officer by 10 AM sharp. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.

A walk in interview will be held on 10.05.2010 for preparing a panel of Junior Resident in Psychiatry to be appointed on contractual basis on a basic pay Rs.15,600/- + GP 5400 p.m. plus other allowances as admissible under rules of the residency scheme of the institute. Interested candidates with MBBS degree from a recognized Institution are requested to come with all the relevant original testimonials / Bio-Data / attested copies of certificate/ one PP size photograph and report to the Administrative Officer by 10 a.m. sharp. Preference will be given to the candidates with DPM. Age limit for the post is 30 years with relaxation applicable in case of SC/ST/OBC as admissible under Central Government Rules.
